Former U.S. President Trump Says U.S. Must Become a Leader in Crypto Industry

Former United States President Donald Trump has said that the nation must become a leader in the crypto industry instead of settling for another position.

“Our country must be the leader in the field, there is no second place… I am very positive and open minded to cryptocurrency companies, and all things related to this new and burgeoning industry” said in a post on Truth Social two days ago. Truth Social is a social media platform owned by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG).

He took aim at President Joe Biden, who is looking forward to a second term in office if he wins this year’s presidential election scheduled for November 4.

“CROOKED JOE BIDEN, ON THE OTHER HAND, THE WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY, WANTS IT TO DIE A SLOW AND PAINFUL DEATH. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN WITH ME!,” said Trump.

Trump made these comments prior to his speech at the Libertarian Party’s National Convention in Washington on May 25. He has been positive about the crypto industry in recent times, with participants within the industry hoping that that he will win.

Polymarket shows that Trump’s chance of winning the election is 56 percent, while President Joe Biden’s chance is 38 percent. A few days before his comments on Truth Social, he announced that his presidential campaign would accept crypto donations.

Six days ago, the Trump 2024 campaign revealed the launch of a fundraising page for donations in cryptocurrency through the Coinbase Commerce product. Logos for eight cryptos are seen on the website, including Bitcoin, Ether, Dogecoin, Shiba, XRP, USD Coin, SOL, and 0x (ZRX).
