Cardano Blockchainās Latest Development Stage is Coming
Yesterday, Cardano blockchain creator Charles Hoskinson expressed his anticipation of a key event this month within the Cardano space. He noted the quickly approaching Chang fork on the Cardano blockchain and that the Cardano Node may attain version 9.0 in June.
āIt looks like June will be the month that Cardano Node will reach 9.0. This means that Cardano is Chang fork ready and waiting for 70 percent of the SPOs to install the new node. Then, a hard fork can occur pushing Cardano into the Age of Voltaire,ā said Hoskinson.
Furthermore, he noted that the upcoming event is the most significant milestone in Cardanoās history, as well as in the crypto industry. This will contribute to the blockchainās emergence as a decentralized civilization, ushering in āthe most advanced blockchain governance system, annual budgets, a treasury, and ā¦ā
The Age of Voltaire is the latest phase in the blockchainās development stages, as the development phases, also called āerasā are named after renowned people in poetry and computer science. These include Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Joseph Goguen, Matsuo BashÅ and Voltaire.
The implementation of basic blockchain, decentralization and smart contracts were achieved in the first three stages. How to scale Cardano is the focus of the Basho era, while the final era called Voltaire features the addition of governance, voting and treasury management functionality.
The Voltaire eraās first hard fork, known as Chang, focuses on introducing community-run governance by facilitating on-chain community consensus and permitting holders of Cardano native tokens (ADA) to vote on proposals. They named the hard fork Change to honor Cardano’s governanceās early leader, Phil Chang, who died two years ago.
āItās been nearly 10 years for some of us on this remarkable journey. I canāt believe that in a single decade, we built a nation. Iām proud of all of you. Cardano gives me hope for our industry and the world. Letās spend the next decade making a big dent in the universe,ā said Hoskinson.
