Bloomberg Reports AI Features Won’t Be Included in Apple’s Initial Launch Of iOS 18

On Sunday, Bloomberg reported Apple Inc’s AI features, which were unveiled recently, will be launched later than expected and won’t be included in the initial software update of its flagship iPad and iPhone devices.

The Bloomberg report showed Apple’s AI plans – known as Apple Intelligence- will miss the initial releases of iPadOS 18 and iOS 18 in September. AI features will be released in October, with the first major update for the software, with iPadOS 18.1 and iOS 18.1.

Apple is also planning to this week make the AI tools available to developers.

In June, Apple unveiled several new AI-powered features for its flagship devices. Apple Intelligence will permit users to generate images and text, and will also likely offer better voice assistant support.

Apple Intelligence will be available on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, the Mac, and the iPad with M1 chip and later.

AI is expected to assist Apple in offsetting sales of its flagship iPhone which have been slowing steadily for more than a year amid saturation in the smartphone market and increased competition.

Apple will be reporting its June quarter earnings later in the week and is expected to report a sustained drop in device sales.
